Sanskrit Numbers
Sanskrit numbers involve both a set of written digits and inflecting number words. The reference keeps Arabic digits, Devanagari digits, Sanskrit forms and concise grammatical notes together.

Cardinal numbers
Learn the basic counting forms, the tens, one hundred and one thousand. Notes identify where the lower cardinals vary by gender or use singular, dual and plural forms in ways that differ from English.
Ordinal numbers
Ordinal forms behave as adjectives and agree with the noun they qualify. The tables show ordinary Sanskrit words rather than implying that Devanagari has special equivalents of the English endings “-st”, “-nd” or “-th”.
Convert and check
Use the converter to move between a numerical value, Devanagari digits and supported Sanskrit wording. Source-attested examples show selected forms inside complete expressions.
