SOURCE-AWARE SANSKRIT STUDY
Sanskrit Sandhi Rules
Sandhi describes the sound changes that occur when Sanskrit elements meet. The companion separates internal changes inside a word from external changes between words, and presents the surface form beside the recoverable boundary.

Vowel sandhi
The vowel guides cover savarṇa-dīrgha, guṇa, vṛddhi, yaṇ and ayādi operations, including the rule commonly searched as eco ’yavāyāvaḥ. Clickable tables show the Sanskrit rule name and a worked example in Devanagari, IAST and English.
Consonant and visarga sandhi
Separate charts explain voicing, assimilation, final-consonant changes and the common behavior of visarga. The presentation distinguishes a grammatical word boundary from the way a sandhied sequence is written or pronounced.
Test a boundary
The combine and explanation tools let learners enter two elements, choose internal or external scope, and inspect supported results. Source links lead to the relevant Pāṇinian sūtra or Whitney section where the adopted explanation can be checked.
